Short answer is... Yes! As a Registered Massage Therapist and Registered Manual Osteopathic therapist, my treatments are covered by MOST extended healthcare insurance packages. Every health plan is different and it is up to you to check what your coverage is beforehand. At this time manual osteopathy is not direct billable- it is pay and submit.
I am a member of a recognized massage association in the Province, allowing me to offer insurance receipts or direct billing to clients who are covered under a group insurance plan.
To ensure a smooth and hassle-free process, it is recommended to call your insurance provider and inquire about the specific requirements for massage therapy coverage. This will allow you to understand your insurance policy and what steps you need to take in order to receive reimbursement or direct billing for your massage therapy services.
You are however still liable to cover your session in full in the case direct billing doesn't go through.
I am also able to bill for Medavie Blue Cross (Veterans Affairs Canada, RCMP), and Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA)
No, I treat men and woman of various body types and activity levels. Most of my experience has been with active individuals who injure themselves due to various physical activities. I do have a zero tolerance harassment policy- any inappropriate behaviour will result in an abrupt end to the session with full payment required, and you will be released as a patient. Mutual respect and boundaries are non-negotiable.
Yes! There is tons of street parking and parking lot free of charge for you to park!
You are welcome book back-to-back treatments, but you must arrive separately for your individual appointments. At this time please just bring yourself.
If you're more than 10 minutes early, there is a waiting area at the front where you can relax until your appointment.
If you feel sick, you MUST cancel your appointment. Your massage will be safer and more enjoyable once you feel better. Please note the 48-hour cancellation policy still applies in the event of illness or emergency.
Unlike Chiropractic adjustments, Osteopathic adjustments are soft and require little force—meaning no high velocity movements, little pain and far fewer ‘cracks’. The patient is in complete control of the contraction that allows for the adjustment. The patient may feel a mild stretch when the practitioner sets them in the proper position. Sometimes there is a sensation of movement when structures realign, but often it is too subtle to feel or hear.
Osteopathy is best used for rehabilitation and ‘problem fixing’. If there is a dysfunction in the body’s structural or soft tissues, it is likely a Manual Osteopath can help facilitate natural function.
Generally, Chiropractics and Massage both focus on and treat single planes/systems of the body, whereas Osteopathy focuses on all the systems—bone and joint, muscle, fascia and other soft tissues, organ motility, and craniosacral movement. Working the body this way, instead of dancing between therapists and sessions, patients usually require fewer treatments and less time to recover.
We can also customize an osteopathic massage session where we can have a more individualized treatment.
